Dr. Thomas Buttke
Dr. Thomas Buttke is originally from Bay Shore, New York, but has lived in North Carolina for more than 30 years. He received his B.A. degree from UNC-Wilmington and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in microbiology from the University of Florida. After graduating with honors from the UNC School of Dentistry, Dr. Buttke completed a 3 year residency in endodontics, also at UNC. In addition to having completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard University, Dr. Buttke has held faculty positions at The University of Mississippi Medical Center, East Carolina University School of Medicine, and the UNC School of Dentistry. Dr. Buttke is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, the American Association of Endodontists and the Tar Heel Endodontic Association. Dr. Buttke lives in Kitty Hawk and in his free time enjoys boating, fishing and relaxing at the beach.
Dr. Kimberly Long
Dr. Kimberly Long grew up in Chapel Hill, NC and received her B.S. degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. She graduated from New York University College of Dentistry and completed a General Practice Residency at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. After practicing dentistry in Brooklyn, Dr. Long returned to NYU to complete her endodontic training. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, the American Association of Endodontists, and the Tar Heel Endodontic Association. Dr. Long lives in Southern Shores with her husband and two sons and is enjoying life in the Outer Banks.
Jaclynn was born and raised in northern Virginia, and now lives in Kill Devil Hills with her teenage daughter, Kayla. She has been working in the dental administrative field for five years, starting in general dentistry before joining the Coastal Endodontics family in May of 2018. She really enjoys interacting with patients and ensuring that everyone has a positive experience at their dental visit. In her free time, Jaclynn likes spending time with her daughter, traveling, going to see live music, beaching, and hanging out with family and friends.
Mary was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida. After graduating with honors from the University of Florida, Mary was employed as a legal assistant and later as an elementary teacher while raising two daughters. When her husband entered dentistry, Mary did so as well and became the practice manager for a periodontal practice and later, a pediatric dental practice. As the practice manager for Coastal Endodontics, Mary is responsible for establishing and maintaining the office systems within our practice. Mary’s favorite past-times include tennis, beachcombing, boating and spending time with family.
Jennifer was born in Elizabeth City and still enjoys living there. Beginning with a high school apprenticeship in an oral surgeon’s office, Jennifer has been involved with dentistry for over 15 years. After attending Wayne Community College to become a certified dental assistant, she spent several years in a general dentistry office. Jennifer has been working with Dr. Buttke since 2006 and she thoroughly enjoys meeting patients and helping to make their experience with us as pleasant as possible. When she is not working, Jennifer and her husband enjoy spending time with their daughter and two dogs. Jennifer’s hobbies include waterskiing, camping and of course, shopping.
Krissy was born in Belvidere and now lives in Elizabeth City. After attending Martin Community College in Williamston and earning a certificate in dental assisting, Krissy began working at Coastal Endodontics in 2013. Krissy’s hobbies include beaching, shopping and spending time with family and friends.
Sherri is from the small town of Rustburg, Virginia. She started working with an endodontist as a dental assistant in 2003, in Lynchburg, VA. She and her husband have been vacationing on the Outer Banks for over 15 years. As the years passed, their love grew strong for the Outer Banks, so they decided to call Manteo their home in 2017. Sherri began working as a dental assistant with Coastal Endodontics in June 2017. In her spare time, she loves walking the beach searching for sea glass, and relaxing while enjoying the sounds of the waves with her husband and dog, Chase.
